The highlight of summer in Amsterdam arrives with Amsterdam Pride—one of the city’s most vibrant and internationally celebrated events. The centerpiece is the iconic Canal Parade, taking place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Dozens of elaborately decorated boats sail through the historic canals in a spectacular display of visibility, equality, and celebration—an experience unlike any other in Europe.
The festivities begin on Friday, July 31, 2026, with lively street parties throughout the city center. The official closing celebration will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2026, at Museumplein from 6:00 PM until midnight, concluding a week of dynamic, international Pride events.
Please note: Pride Week significantly impacts the city’s usual rhythm. Major streets will be closed, public transportation routes adjusted, and large crowds are expected—especially along the canals and in the historic center. Advance planning is highly recommended, including restaurant reservations and timed-entry tickets for major attractions.
