During this special weekend, privately owned canal houses—normally closed to the public—open their historic gardens for visits. Holland Festival 

One of Europe’s leading international performing arts festivals, featuring groundbreaking artists from around the world. The program spans innovative theater, music, dance, opera, musical theater, and multidisciplinary performances that intersect with visual arts such as photography and film. Festival: Bite of Amsterdam 

Amsterdam’s premier restaurant festival takes place in Amstelpark. The park is divided into themed zones, each offering its own culinary atmosphere and tasting experience. Expect chef’s tables, bold new flavors, and dishes presented as edible art.

Wine Festival: Bacchus Wijnfestival 

Held over three consecutive weekends in the Amsterdamse Bos, this sophisticated wine festival brings together Amsterdam-based wine merchants and vintners presenting more than 300 wines—from classic European labels to expressive New World selections. Wine tastings are complemented by curated food pairings, engaging storytelling, music, and dancing.

Tropikali Festival

Created by and for the queer community—with a distinct Berlin-style party vibe—the festival warmly welcomes anyone who wishes to purchase a ticket and join the celebration.

Open-Air Theatre Vondelpark

The open-air theater in the amphitheater at Vondelpark Openluchttheater presents a diverse program including dance, live music, Dutch stand-up comedy, children’s theater, and classical performances. No tickets are required; however, donations are greatly appreciated and can be made via QR codes displayed in and around the park or at on-site payment stations.

Open-Air Cinema – Pllek

The waterfront café Pllek screens a curated selection of beautiful, thought-provoking, and occasionally provocative films on a large outdoor screen set on its urban beach. Screenings take place weather permitting. Comfortable seating, beanbags, and blankets are provided. Admission is ticketed, and advance purchase is recommended.
